Around the world,
colonization inflicted immense loss and grief on disproportionately affected
communities of color. From targeted assassinations to extrajudicial executions,
massacres, and genocides, millions were killed simply for displaying their dignity,
humanity, and desire for respect as human beings. WCM is an imminent single
place of pilgrimage and remembrance where communities most affected by
colonization can come to terms with the destructive violence that shaped their
lives, commemorate victims, and find healing.
